The Story
Kate and Stephen met in 2015 on a cold and very early morning outside of UMKC's library for a car pool to a Habitat For Humanity volunteer build site. Together they found that they both shared in common big hearts and nerdy brains. From there they became friends, eventually they became close friends, and organically their friendship developed into love. With Stephen in the military and going through physical therapy school and Kate attending medical school abroad, their relationship was tested by long distances and busy lifestyles. Stephen was determined that he had found the one and proposed on Christmas Eve in 2020 at the Kansas City Plaza (she said Yes of course! Even though she had her share of options). Stephen moved in with Kate to their Brooklyn brownstone apartment where he works as a physical therapist and Kate is a 2nd year resident psychiatrist. Their dog Pavlov will unfortunately not be able to make it to the wedding but he remains the absolute light of their life. The two are both so excited that they get to marry their best friend and their better half (Stephen being the tranquil, kind soul and Kate being the tenacious busy bee). They plan to spend the rest of their lives doing everyday things and traveling together, with countless dogs and a few children to accompany them along their merry way.
